Juvederm Fillers

Juvederm is a dermal filler used to correct soft tissue volume deficiencies. At Mundo Dentistry, we are proud to be able to provide our patients Juvederm treatment as part of our cosmetic dentistry treatments in order to achieve more complete facial esthetics. Dermal filler treatment is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures done in the United States and the Juvederm brand is known for its natural and long lasting results, typically lasting around 9-12 months. Juvederm is composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring molecule of the body, which is injected into the folds and wrinkles of the skin in order to minimize the effects of aging by adding volume.

As people age, the skin loses its fullness and elasticity. The loss of collagen in combination with the effects of aging can leave the skin around the mouth and nose deflated creating “Marionette Lines” and nasolabial folds. A youthful smile is one that is full and volumized, drawing the eyes towards the smile. If you have a beautiful and youthful smile, yet the skin around your smile is less than desirable, Juvederm fillers can help you achieve the appearance you want.

Juvederm not only fills in the wrinkles around the mouth, but these injections can also create a balanced look for your lips and gum tissues. Many people suffer from ”black triangles”, large black areas between the teeth or implants near the gum line that detract from a great smile. Juvederm can be used to fill in these areas aiding in a better and more symmetrical smile.

Your smile is one of your most personal and recognizable features. If you would like to learn more about enhancing your smile with Juvederm treatment, contact Mundo Dentistry to learn more.

Is Juvederm right for you?

Juvederm is a great option for patients with skin aging to smooth static lines and wrinkles, mainly in the lower two-thirds of the face and patient’s with gummy defects seeking minimally invasive cosmetic enhancements. Juvederm will soften lines and wrinkles as opposed to erasing them, therefore patients with excessive skin laxity and folds should consider more invasive surgical treatments.

At Mundo Dentistry, we understand how important your smile is to you. Whether you are concerned about the brightness of your teeth, the alignment of your teeth, or how the skin around your mouth affects the appearance of your teeth, we consider complete facial esthetics in order to enhance the beauty of your smile. Ask us about Juvederm treatment and let us help determine if it is right for you.

What to Expect

The foundation to a great smile and complete facial esthetics are healthy teeth and gums, therefore, your doctor will need to do a complete dental exam to evaluate how Juvederm treatment can enhance your smile along with discussing your overall treatment goals and answering any questions you may have.

If you and your doctor decide Juvederm is right for you, a typical Juvederm treatment takes about 30 minutes, starting with a few photographs if these weren’t taken at the complete dental exam appointment followed with your doctor evaluating the best areas for Juvederm injections. These are given with a tiny syringe after application of topical anesthesia with most patients experiencing minimal discomfort during the procedure and slight bruising lasting only a few days. The full esthetic effects are seen immediately with the effects lasting 9-12 months depending on the case. Often times with successive Juvederm treatments less injections will be needed in the future and these can coincide with your regular dental checkup and cleaning.

Dr. Blake Kingsbury, DMD, and Dr. Matthew Howell, DDS, are committed to helping patients achieve a smile that they are proud to show off. Contact our practice today to learn more.
